About Us

Our main mission is to better the life of the children at Lao Wang’s Orphanage by assisting with the feeding program, in supplying milk powder for the smaller children, rice, protein and other food items.

Mifan Mama Volunteers was founded in January 2009 by four expatriate women, all of whom have drive and compassion to help the Orphans in China. After a visit to Lao Wang’s orphanage in Anhui for able and disable children, delivering boxes of Love to the children for Chinese New Year Presents (another of our projects), we met 224 children who had been taken into a disused factory and given a roof over their heads and food in their tummies and love where they were abandoned and unloved.

We were inspired by the founder of the Orphanage and identified a definite need to support these children, firstly by helping with their food supply. At this time they were not getting rice and as the children asked us for rice we pledged to supply this each month. We also supply different forms of protein. We are supported by our sisters in a Hong Kong Church, The Pearl River Outreach and Mifan Mommies America. River of Hearts supports with clothes and toys.

The Hilton Hotel has also joined in supporting us with disused toiletries which we distribute to the children, soap, shampoo, combs, etc. We saw a need to improve their hygiene, they could not keep clean before as they had no soap, toothpaste, etc. We have noticed a great improvement since they have been receiving it.

The public is our main source of support and we have done fund raising and have Mifan Mama Coffee Cups with micro wave cake ingredients in it for sale (make a chocolate cake in your cup in the microwave). The bag of rice you donate could make all the difference.

We travel to Anhui once a month and are happy for you to join us. We take anything we are donated for the children: clothes, toys, crayons, books, paper, bedding, and food. Everything we give them we see used. Lao Wang and his family put the children first. We would like to help them further with your support.

We are a growing group of volunteers who feel called to help these children in any way we can. If you feel called to help these children in any way you can, please contact us.
