Giving Orphans a helping hand
Mifan Mama was founded in 2009 by Julie and Tony Martens and four expatriate women living in Shanghai. All of whom have the drive, compassion and motivation to help Chinese orpans. Their main mission was to better the life of orphans in Anhui by assisting with basic food supplies, medical and eduational needs. Since then their support has extended across China to many orhanages and thousands of children.
The name "MiFan MaMa" was chosen because "MiFan" means "rice" and "Ma Ma" is the appropriate term for "mother" here in China where we reside. William Faulkner once said “The man who removes a mountain, begins by carrying away small stones.” Day by day, week by week, month by month, we work to remove the stones that bear down on these children. Through your continued support we thrive to keep this vision alive.
Boxes of Love 2012
We set ourselves a goal for 2012 to distribute 10,000 boxes of love - well we exceeded our target and sent out over 16,500 to the orphans across China for the Chinese New Year.
We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported us in making this project so successful.
Mifan Mama are very greatful to Radisson Blu Hotel, Thumb Plaza, Pudong who sponsored the box production for this year.
